Ardagh Group investing in the circular economy

Together with our joint venture partners Zignago and Verallia, we have continually invested to increase the processing capacity at our glass recycling facility, Vetreco S.r.l. in Supino, Southern Italy. In addition to the increased capacity, we have improved the quality of the cullet supplied. The Vetreco facility can process 370Kt of recycled glass cullet per annum. This means that the facility is one of the largest glass recycling facilities in the world.
When it first opened in 2013, the collection rate of waste glass in Southern Italy was 16kg per capita compared to 40kg per capita in the North. As a result of the increased glass recycling capability, the rate is now 32Kg per capita.
